Re: racing bike

I have a childrens racing bike that needs a good home. It’s quite old but in good working order. Had it serviced and a new derailer put on last year. Size is just one below an adult size bike. Would be perfect for somebody who uses the track at Salt Ayre.

Yes Nicky, Raleigh Wisp is still for sale. Colour – pale blue. Age ? We bought it for our teenage daughter some years ago but the novelty quickly wore off. She used it probably less than a dozen times! It is gathering dust!

Re: Stolen bicycle

Posted by: Jessica Abrahams

My bicycle was stolen from behind my house on Longmarsh Lane sometime between 10am on Friday 28th November and 9am on Monday 1st December. It’s a Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike painted matt black, with fine silver lettering on the frame.
If you notice a bike of this description left around somewhere, or for sale second hand, please contact me. Reward if it’s recovered. Many thanks!

  Hi,
Is this Raleigh Wisp bike still for sale? If so, can you give me more information on it – age, condition, colours etc.
Thanks,

Nicky

Re: Looking for a Massload bike rack

Posted by: Helen

I had my bike pinched a few weeks ago and while replacing the bike itself was no problem I cannot find a replacement rack which will fit my rack pack, (it is the kind which slides into slots on top of the rack.) I had a Massload rack which I bought from Halfords about 4 years ago but they no longer supply them. Anyone got one for sale or know of anywhere I can get one??

Re: Second Hand Bikes

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A SECOND HAND BIKE? HAVE YOU GOT A BIKE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SELL? DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A SECOND HAND BIKE?

Please use this Messageboard to advertise the sale of any second hand bikes and to post ‘Wanted’ ads if you are looking for a second hand bike. There are many students at Lancaster University that would be interested in buying a cheap second hand bike.

Please post you’re details here if you are wishing to buy/sell a second hand bike and please check this list regularly and get in touch with one another.

Many thanks.

Re: Rides – Local Group

Posted by: CelebratingCycling

All of our organised rides are mixed (except of course for the Women on Wheels) – however we don’t organise lots as we’re never sure what the interest is (and we need ride leaders etc).

We’re just starting to put together the events guide for 2009 – hopefully this will include a few longer rides (eg into Bowland).

We have in the past put out a call for people interested in forming a local group that could meet and ride together (but not on the scale of clubs like the Lune Valley). Happy to help co-ordinate if there are interested people out there.

Re: Mixed cycling

I’ve only been on one run in the area, and there was both male and female riders, and a child in a seat too. The run was from the Millennium Bridge to Sunderland Point. The organiser was Sandra Elsworth.

Also catch up on my replies in a pro cycling sense in the letters pages of The Visitor online.

i know you have cycling just for the ladies but how about for the men or a mixed group there are plenty of single men around the area that do cycle and are often looking for people to go out cycling with

Re: Trike

‘I’ve got my eye on a large workbike type tricycle – but it’s in Liverpool – Anyone have any ideas what Courier firms might deal with this? Or recovery firm? It’s not "rideworthy" as it is’

Are you far from Lancaster station?
I know this might sound like a daft idea, but would it fit into the hold area of an inter-city train? Book it as two bikes (it’s free to book) so to accomodate the width.

Go to Liverpool via Crewe from Lancaster.

Just a thought.
