Cycling for Leisure & Sport
The district is rightly proud of its extensive cycling network - the largest in Lancashire! We're equally proud that so many people - local and visitors alike - enjoy using the whole range of routes through our wonderful city, coast and countryside. There are plenty of rides - mainly using off-road facilities - to take you directly from the bustling heart of the city straight into our fantastic countryside and coast.
-
Take the whole family for a day out using the traffic free paths along the River Lune – south to Glasson Dock and north to the Crook o’ Lune.
-
If you need some inspiration on where to take the kids see our section on local Family Cycle rides
-
Cycle the quiet lanes of the Lune Valley or for the more adventurous try the Lancashire Cycleway (Route 90) from Dolphinholme to Caton.
-
Cycle along the Lancaster Canal to Carnforth and then enjoy a relaxing return journey by Waterbus
