Calling all local women - cyclists and non-cyclists. Please take a minute to complete our survey about cycling by clicking here.
According to the last census (2001) only around 2% of women in the Lancaster district regularly used a bicycle to get to work. This survey is just the first step in finding out why women choose to cycle (or not) and what would help to increase cycling levels for all types of journeys.
Once we have analysed the results we hope to run a number of activities based on our findings such as training, focus groups, events re accessories & cycling gear.

Welcome to the homepage of Celebrating Cycling in City, Coast and Countryside
This is a great opportunity for Lancaster and Morecambe people to show the rest of the country what we can do and turn our district into the Cycling Capital of the North West.
Already we are bucking the national trend, with above the national average number of cyclists. But, with your help, by 2008, we can double that figure.
This website is here to help us do just that. Whether you’ve never ridden a bike before in your life or you’re a seasoned pro, whether you’re thinking about beating the traffic and cycling to work or you want to find somewhere safe to take the kids at the weekend, you can find out all you need to know here.
So come on, what are you waiting for? Get on your bike and get pedalling.....
Let’s celebrate cycling!!
